Tuff News July 24

Greetings from the Tuff Memorial Home.

Activities planned for July include:

•Friday, July 25: 2:30 p.m. music by Bruce Dysthe.

•Wednesday, July 30: 2:30 Cousins Day program.

Two of our residents celebrated their birthdays this past week. Mariann Metzger on July 13 and Norma Jean Slegers on July 14. We would like to wish these ladies a very happy birthday and hope they enjoyed their special day.

Kitty Helgeson was able to return after being a patient in the hospital Our thoughts and prayers are with her at this time.

July 13-19 was National Laundry Workers Week. We want to salute our laundry staff for the wonderful work they do.

Strawberries were the theme of the afternoon program on Wednesday. Strawberries are very low in saturated fat, cholesterol and sodium. They are also a good source of potassium, dietary fiber, vitamin C and manganese. Other strawberry facts and favorite recipes were shared. Those in attendance enjoyed strawberry soda, strawberry Hostess cupcakes and chocolate covered strawberries. For lunch strawberry shortcake was provided.

Fair Day was Friday afternoon. Items on display were paintings, photography, handiwork, garden produce and canning items. Queen Toots Van Iperen presented ribbons to those who shared items for the fair. Mini corn dogs and ice cream was the afternoon lunch. We want to thank residents, families and staff who shared their projects with us for this event.

Special thanks to Susanna Bekedam who provided special music during our worship services in the chapel

Smile …

Complained a small boy, “I just don’t understand mothers. They make you go to bed when you’re not sleepy and they wake you up when you are.”
