Delfs: Commendations to Mary Jane Brown staff

To the Editor:

The purpose of this letter is to commend the staff at the Good Samaritan — Mary Jane Brown Home for the superb care my mother, Dorothy Delfs, received while she was a resident from late December 2013 to February 11, 2014.

Often Mom would tell me that she was happy there and complimented specific caregivers in particular. I was pleasantly surprised and pleased to hear her describe the various activities in which she participated and hear her reiterate various conversations she shared with fellow residents. These interactions kept her engaged and contented.

Three people I would like to recognize: Toni, the social worker, who was patient with my endless phone calls, Lori, who was persistent when Mom needed emergency services and Joyce for her comforting words a short time before Mom died. All staff were top-notch and so very caring.

Keep up the good work; I understand why your facility has high ratings.

Marlene Delfs
