Panther boys end slide in Edgerton
The Ellsworth boys’ basketball team snapped a two-game losing skid when by recording a 59-39 victory at Edgerton Public School.
The Panthers strolled to a 32-9 advantage in the first half to set the stage for a 20-point win after the Flying Dutchmen sported at 30-27 scoring edge in the second half.
Drew Cheskie (20 points, nine rebounds and three steals), Mitch Leuthold (12 points) and Jon Kramer (six assists and three steals) led EHS to its sixth win.
Dragons sweep triangular field
The Adrian wrestling team picked up its first wins of the season during a triangular meet in Adrian.
The hosts topped Sioux Falls Roosevelt 35-25 and notched a 50-15 win over Central Lyon.
Skylar Hieronimus, Michael Preuss, Tony Lynn, Hunter Heitkamp, Matthew Slater, Jesse Slater and Ben Taracena all went 2-0 for the AHS.
Patriot boys roll over Adrian
The Hills-Beaver Creek boys’ basketball team posted a 93-55 Red Rock Conference victory over Adrian in Hills.
Canning 57 percent of their field goals and sporting a 48-27 rebounding advantage to lead the way, H-BC opened a 51-31 halftime lead before outscoring AHS 42-24 in the second half to win by 38 points.
Carey Taubert (29 points, 11 rebounds and four assists), Braden Ellingson (13 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals), Dylan Gehrke (13 points, 14 rebounds and three assists), Noah Holthaus (13 points and five rebounds) and Isaac Tilstra (10 points) turned in big nights for H-BC.
Brady Lonneman (17 points, nine rebounds and three assists), Nick Reyne (12 points, five assists and three steals), Taylor Recker (11 points) and Theron Miller (seven rebounds) led the Dragons.
