Chargers eliminate H-BC Monday

The 2013 volleyball season came to an end for the Hills-Beaver Creek Patriots Monday in Westbrook.

H-BC, the 10th seed for the South Section 3A Tournament, squared off against No. 7 Westbrook-Walnut Grove in an opening-round clash.

The Patriots were unable to upset the Chargers as they were outscored 75-36 in a 3-0 loss.

H-BC ends the season with a 7-16 record.

W-WG posted 25-11 wins in the first two sets before completing its sweep with a 25-14 victory in the finale.

Kelli Esselink led the Patriots with six kills and two blocks in the match, while Taylor Wingert chipped in three kills.

Megan Westrum recorded 13 set assists for H-BC.

Tori Bork registered a team-high six digs, while Jessica Sandbulte and Kayla Thone charted five digs each.
