As drought continues and wells dry up, Luverne considers options; Rock County Rural Water expands

After 23 years in the making, Lewis and Clark began delivering Missouri River water to 11 of its 20 members on July 30, 2012. Those receiving water include Beresford, Centerville, Harrisburg, Lennox, Lincoln County Rural Water, Minnehaha Community Water Corp (one of three connections), Parker, Sioux Falls, Rock Rapids, South Lincoln Rural Water and Tea.  Members still waiting for water include Hull, Lincoln Pipestone RWS, Luverne, Rock County RWD, Madison, Sheldon, Sibley, Sioux Center and Worthington, in addition to the remaining two connections for Minnehaha Community Water Corp.
