The Hills-Beaver Creek volleyball team came up on the short end of a 3-0 decision when it challenged Westbrook-Walnut Grove in a Red Rock Conference clash Thursday in Westbrook.
The Patriots were outscored 75-44 during the evening, but H-BC coach Mandy Kor said her team displayed some positive signs in Westbrook.
“This is the best match we have played,” she offered.
“We are seeing much improvement. We are starting to cut down on our errors and becoming a little more aggressive offensively.”
The home-standing Chargers registered 25-13, 25-23 and 25-8 wins during the match.
Jessica Sandbulte (four digs and eight of eight serving with one ace) and Kelli Esselink (six kills and five blocks) emerged as H-BC’s statistical leaders.
Taylor Wingert (nine digs), Hattie Van Wyhe (two blocks), Madison Fick (two blocks) and Marissa Kracht (12 set assists) also turned in solid efforts for the Patriot girls.
