Youth baseball grabs second-place finishes

Two youth baseball teams spent June 21-23 in Brandon at the Sunshine Tournament. The younger third- and fourth-grade team was 3-1 for the weekend, finishing second place in the 10-and-under B division. They played teams from Sioux Falls, Watertown and Vermillion. The older fifth- and sixth-grade team completed well and placed second in a pool of 10 teams in the 12-and-under B division at the same tournament. They defeated teams from Watertown, Clear Lake and Sioux Falls before falling to Garretson in the championship game on Sunday, June 23. Their next tournament is the MinnDak League Playoffs July 5-7 in Humboldt, SD.
