Jennifer Lindsey, Hardwick, and her 11-month-old son, James, spent Thursday evening, June 20, selling their free-range chicken eggs at the Luverne Farmers Market. Lindsey said “free range” means the chickens are not confined. “They run around and eat bugs and grass,” she said. “We supplement with corn, but they don’t eat much corn in the summer.” In addition to fresh eggs, Lindsey also offers pickled eggs at her stand. The Luverne Farmers Market convenes every Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Redbird Field located just south and east of the intersection of Main Street and Blue Mound Avenue.
