A convincing road win Saturday night left the Tri-State Buffalos with a home game for the opening round of Southern Plains Football League Playoffs this coming weekend.
Taking on the Dodge County Outlaws in West Concord, the Buffalos needed a victory to earn the fourth seed for the playoffs.
T-S answered the challenge by rolling to a 67-0 victory to end the regular season with a 5-2 record.
The Buffalos will host fifth-seeded The Panic (Nicollet) Saturday night.
Game time is 7 p.m. in Hills.
The Dodge County Outlaws proved to be no match for the Buffalos, who scored a season-high 67 points and registered their second shutout of the season during the win.
T-S scored 45 points in the game’s first half and outscored the Outlaws 22-0 in the second half to complete the rout.
Quarterback Jordan Larson sparked the Buffalos offensively by throwing three touchdown pass and rushing for two scores.
Larson passed for 206 yards and ran for 50 yards in the contest.
Seth Nuffer hauled in two touchdown receptions during an 84-yard receiving performance and Alex Toupal added 109 rushing yards to the cause.
The T-S defense registered three touchdowns during the contest.
Jeremy Robinson turned two touchdown recoveries into touchdowns and Tanner Scholten turned another fumble recovery into a touchdown.
Saturday’s showdown against The Panic is a rematch of wild game played in Nicollet June 1.
The Buffalos overcame a huge deficit in the fourth quarter to pull out a 46-43 victory.
There will be a Tailgate Party at the Hidden Hills Cafe at 4 p.m. prior to Saturday’s playoff game.
