Golfers get the sun

On Friday 109 golfers headed to Larchwood for the annual Friendship Days golf tournament. The weather was beautiful with warm temperatures, a light breeze and plenty of sunshine. Coming in first place, shooting a 61, were Colton Bass, Dustin Verhey, Karic Wiertzema and Ben Van Keulen. The second place team, shooting 62, was Dave Halverson, Brad Haak, Jeff Sehr and Dave Top. The third place team, shooting 63, was Adam Finke, Halden Van Wyhe, Nick Wassenaar and Brandon Klein. Other prizes were awarded for a variety of accomplishments. The tournament is organized by the Exchange State Bank and the Helping Build Communities Stronger group.

Hole Five Prize: longest putt, Jim Berdahl
Hole Six Prize: closest to pin, Ben Van Keulen
Hole Seven Prize: closest to pin in two, Mark Duxbury
Hole Eight Prize: closest to pin in two, Scott Olson
Hole Nine Prize: longest putt, Ben Van Keulen
