Student work featured on billboard

Hills-Beaver Creek Elementary fourth-grader Tory Knobloch has an impressive art showcase—a 10- x 28-foot billboard located on Hwy. 75 by Hardwick. He is the son of Dallas and Amy Knobloch of Hills and was one of three winners selected in Sioux Valley Energy’s sixth annual safety billboard contest. Knobloch’s drawing, which cautions people to steer clear of power lines, was one of more than 400 entries judged by the Safety Committee of Sioux Valley Energy. The annual safety contest is designed to help teachers incorporate electrical safety messages into their lesson plans. The billboard was installed in late April and will be displayed throughout the month of May. On Friday, April 26, representatives from Sioux Valley visited H-BC Elementary to congratulate Knobloch by presenting him with a check for $25 and a certificate. Deb Biever and Shawn Bruns (pictured above with Knobloch) also gave students a brief presentation on electricity.
