A six-game winning streak came to an end for the Hills-Beaver Creek boys’ basketball team Tuesday in Hills.
Taking on Red Rock Conference-leading Southwest Christian in a league tilt, the Patriots came up on the short end of a 96-69 decision.
SWC got off to a good start by opening a 46-32 lead in the game’s first half.
The Patriots trimmed the difference to nine points with 11 minutes remaining, but the Eagles went on to outscore H-BC by 18 points the rest of the night to prevail by 27.
Dylan Gehrke (20 points), Jeff Sandbulte (19 points and three assists) and Dalton Bass (10 points and three assists) led the Patriots offensively.
Jon Gallagher paced the Patriots with six rebounds.
The 11-10 Patriots play in Ellsworth Friday before hosting Westbrook-Walnut Grove for the final game of the regular season Monday.
