Deuschle art on display in Worthington

Jerry Deuschle’s Raku artwork will be on display through the end of the month at the Minnesota West Community & Technical College’s Worthington Center for Performing and Fine Arts.

Hospice Charity Dinner tickets still available

Tickets are still available for the 20th Annual Hospice Charity Dinner and Auction on April 20 at the Blue Mound Banquet Center. Tickets can be purchased in person at the hospice office at 211 Main St., Suite 101, in Luverne or by calling (507) 283-1805. All seats are reserved seating.

Auction items and donations will be accepted through March 11.


Masons distribute Mason jars for Food Shelf contributions

The Ben Franklin Masonic Lodge in Luverne is distributing Mason jars at area businesses to collect cash for the Rock County Emergency Food Shelf during the month of February. Minnesota Masonic Charities will match donations up to $15,000 through the local lodge.

Teddy Bear Band free concert at Palace Feb. 23

Rock County children ages 0-5 and their parents are invited to a free concert with the nationally known Teddy Bear Band at the Palace Theatre at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23.

•Story Hour for children ages 4-5 will meet at 10 a.m. each Thursday through April 11. Call 449-5040 to register your child.

•Laptime for children ages 0-3 with an adult will meet from 10:30-11 a.m. each Friday until April 12. No registration is necessary.


Daffodil bouquet orders due Feb. 20

Spring daffodils symbolize hope, and the American Cancer Society is taking orders for daffodil bouquets with proceeds benefiting cancer research. To order call RSVP, 283-5064, and leave a message before Feb. 20. Daffodils arrive in early March, coinciding with the beginning of spring.


Free tax help available at library

Volunteers through AARP will provide free tax services at the Rock County Community Library in Luverne starting Feb. 11. Call the library, 449-5040, to make an appointment. Appointments are required. The service is free for any private individual with a simple tax format. It’s not for commercial, farming or investment taxes.

Driver Education Class, beginning Feb. 19, has a few openings for students grade 8 and older.

Using Bob Ross painting method, create a Gentle Stream Landscape Oil Painting on Feb. 23. Fee is $69.

Jeff Hartquist will lead participants through the basics of writing your life history called Filling in Your Dash on Feb. 25.
