H-BC boys register fifth-straight win

The Hills-Beaver Creek boys ran their longest streak of wins this season to five-straight games with home win over Adrian Tuesday.

Taking on the Dragons in a Red Rock Conference contest, H-BC played its way to a 41-39 halftime edge.

The Patriots put everything together when they outscored Adrian 52-30 in the second half to secure a 93-69 victory.

“We started to pull away with about 12 minutes left in the game,” said Patriot coach Steve Wiertzema.

“We were able to string together some steals and we hit a couple of threes.”

Jeff Sandbulte (32 points, eight rebounds, six steals and three assists), Dylan Gehrke (21 points, seven rebounds and six steals), Carey Taubert (15 points) and Dalton Bass (11 points and three assists) led the 10-9 Patriots to victory.

Jon Gallagher collected eight rebounds and Braden Ellingson registered for steals for H-BC, which upped its Red Rock Conference record to 7-5.

The Patriots played Southwest United in Okabena Friday.
