Flying Dutchmen deny H-BC's girls Thursday

The Hills-Beaver Creek girls’ basketball team had an opportunity to win consecutive games for the first time since early December when the Patriots squared off against Edgerton Thursday in Edgerton.

Unfortunately for the Patriots, the game didn’t fall in their favor.

After sporting a 21-17 lead in the first half, the Flying Dutchmen outscored H-BC 26-7 the rest of the stanza to open a 43-28 lead at the intermission.

The Patriots trailed by less than 10 points a couple of times in the second half, but EHS thwarted to the challenges to prevail 75-61 at game’s end.

Taylor Wingert, Megan Westrum and Meghan Leuthold netted 16, 15 and 11 points respectively for the Patriots.

Paige Leuthold recorded eight rebounds and eight assists.
