H-BC girls drop fourth-straight game

The Hills-Beaver Creek girls’ basketball team lost its fourth-straight game when it traveled to Slayton Friday to take on Murray County Central.

H-BC fell behind 28-15 in the first 18 minutes of play and was outscored 25-18 in the second half in what ended as a 53-33 setback for the Patriots.

“We didn’t shoot the ball particularly well,” said H-BC coach Jason Blosmo.

“We played well enough in our half-court defense to win the game, but we didn’t do a very good job on the defensive boards. We gave them too many second and third shots.”

H-BC’s Meghan Leuthold registered a double-double by scoring 10 points and collecting 10 rebounds.

Paige Leuthold netted 10 points and charted three steals, while Taylor Wingert snared 10 rebounds.

The 4-4 Patriots host Adrian Jan. 3.
