Eagles upend H-BC boys

The Hills-Beaver Creek boys’ basketball team dropped its first Red Rock Conference game of the season Friday in Hills.

Entertaining defending league champion Southwest Christian, the Patriots had an opportunity to make an early-season statement by upsetting the Eagles.

SWC didn’t let it happen.

The Eagles rolled to a 46-29 lead in the first half before outscoring the Patriots 45-34 in the second half to secure a 91-63 victory.

Jeff Sandbulte (27 points and three assists), Dylan Gehrke (10 points, five rebounds and four assists) and Carey Taubert (10 points and five rebounds) paced H-BC statistically.

Jon Gallagher (10 rebounds), Braden Ellingson (six rebounds) and Dalton Bass (six assists) also turned in productive outings for the 1-3 Patriots, who host Edgerton Thursday.
