Thanks to local sponsor Exchange State Bank, many parents and grandparents are going to get to enjoy some quality time with their favorite young Patriots in honor of American Education Week.

The bank sponsors two events this week. The first on Wednesday invited students to bring their parents to school for pastries.

Following the sweet treats they were welcome to stick around and watch the student council and peer mediator installation ceremony.

On Friday students are asked to show their Patriot Pride by wearing red, white and blue. For lunch that day grandparents and special guests will sit in for lunch with the students.

These activities are part of a nationwide effort to draw attention to American Education Week and to raise awareness about the critical need to provide every child with a quality public education.

The weeklong celebration gives the district an opportunity to highlight individuals who are making a difference in the lives of the students at H-BC.

Wednesday was National Education Support Professionals Day.
