A sound effort turned in by the Hills-Beaver Creek girls’ basketball team didn’t yield a victory Friday in Edgerton.
H-BC, which took a 10-game losing skid into the game, was in a position to end the slide late in the game.
Edgerton, however, was able to produce enough offense to record a 60-53 victory.
“The girls’ played really well,” said Patriot coach Jason Blosmo.
“We probably played our best all-around game in quite some time. We managed to put together a good first half and a good second half in the same night. We executed well and eliminated any major falters.”
H-BC faced a 27-21 deficit after 18 minutes of play before EHS used a 33-32 scoring edge in the second half to prevail by seven points at game’s end.
Katlyn Sandbulte (17 points and four assists), Meghan Leuthold (16 points and 13 rebounds), Paige Leuthold (11 points and five assists) and Haley Van Wyhe (four steals and four assists) turned in strong performances for the Patriots.
