The Hills-Beaver Creek girls were unable to snap a nine-game losing streak Monday in Rock Rapids, Iowa.
Taking on Central Lyon in a border battle, H-BC appeared to be sharp early in the game.
The Patriots, however, lost control of the contest as the game progressed and came out on the losing end of a 67-31 decision.
“We came out focused in the first quarter. We handled their pressure, ran our sets and looked good doing those things,” said H-BC coach Jason Blosmo.
“We lost our focus in the second quarter. We started turning the ball over and giving them some easy baskets.”
H-BC fell behind 40-15 in the first half before coming up on the short end of a 27-16 scoring margin in the second half.
Meghan Leuthold netted 11 points and collected 10 rebounds for the Patriots, who received a five-assist effort from Katlyn Sandbulte.
