Work at the Hills-Beaver Creek High School building site started in June, but most of the progress has been contained behind fences.
Residents driving through town did not see much of the project until last week.
Masons putting up exterior and interior block made quick progress over the past two weeks, and that progress can now be seen from the road as cars enter town from the west.
Prior to the Labor Day holiday, exterior block on the south, east and north side of the building was complete. A large amount of interior block has also been completed.
Footings for the industrial arts and agricultural building have been poured and are being prepared for pre-cast work that is tentatively scheduled to start in late-September or mid-October.
Project Manager Jim Sammons said production on the pre-cast walls started on Tuesday. They will be used to construct the gym walls as well as the industrial arts and agricultural building on the north side of the building.
Sammons said the date of installation largely depends on the availability of a crane.
Plumbing and electrical crews are getting started on their areas.
Superintendent David Deragisch said he is pleased with how quickly and smoothly things are getting done.
“It is amazing what can happen in just a few weeks,” he said.
Sammons spoke about the timeline for the project and said, “Barring the rain and wind, things are going as well as can be expected at this point.”
