Work continues on the expansion project at the American Reformed Church on North Highway 75 in Luverne. Pictured here, contractors work on the footings and foundation for the $3.8 million expansion to the north side of the church.
Groundbreaking was July 11 for the expansion that will include the following:
•A 15,015-square-foot addition on the main level
•A 6,100-square-foot addition on the lower level
•New sanctuary to seat nearly 800 people (current one seats 500)
•Sloped floor for better view of stage
•Semicircle seating to bring seating closer to the stage
•Larger stage area for music, drama, special programs and worship in general
•Handicap accessibilities (restrooms and elevator, for example)
•Larger fellowship hall
•Additional restrooms
•New multipurpose room on main floor
•Additional basement space for future growth.
