On Wednesday, Aug. 15, staff at the Beaver Creek Elementary School served more than 350 hot dogs to hungry families at the city park in Beaver Creek. Families ate together before the children ran to play on the playground at the elementary school. The picnic was scheduled prior to the school’s open house in an effort to help parents feed their families on a busy night. Principal Todd Holthaus said he was pleased with how things worked that evening and says the school intends to have the event again next year. Following the picnic families attended an all-school meeting, as well as class meetings.
