Meetings

Town and Country Garden Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, at the Rock County Law Enforcement Center. Hostess: Lynn Lopau. Anyone interested in gardening is welcome to attend. Call (507) 597-6378.

Fellowship With Friends, a non-denominational Bible study group, meets from 5 to 7 p.m. Sundays in the Atlas building, 203 E. Main St., Luverne. The study focuses on Ray Vander Laan’s Bible history visuals on the Holy Land. Call 283-8272 or 283-4366 with questions.

Luverne Optimist Club meets at 6:30 p.m. every first and third Monday of the month in Sharkee’s, Luverne.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 8 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays in the Rock County Community Library.

 

Denver Township Board meets the third Tuesday of every month in the Hardwick City Hall.

Luverne Baseball Traveling Team sign-up

Sign-up and parent meeting for the Luverne Baseball Traveling Team will be at 5:30 p.m. Monday, March 22, at Sharkee’s in Luverne for students in grades 3-6. Baseballs, burgers and fries will be available for those who sign up. Luverne Baseball Association presentation will be at 6 and 7 p.m.

 

Recycling event March 26

A community recycling information meeting will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 26, in the Tuscan Room next to the Coffey Haus. Students from Presentation College Social Work Program are hosting the event as a community service project in order to further educate the public on the importance of recycling and its broader effect on the environment. Girl Scout cookie sale at Ace

Girl Scout Troop 50383 will be selling cookies Saturday, March 27, at Ace Hardware in Luverne. Call Mary Thone, 283-4646, with questions.

 

Rock County Dairy Producers event set for March 27

Rock County Dairy Producers annual meeting will begin with a free meal at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 27, at the Luverne Pizza Ranch. The meeting and crowning of the Rock County Dairy Princess will be at 8:15 p.m. Call (507) 283-2951 with questions.

 

Arc roses here March 30

Roses that were bought at the Arc sale can be picked up Tuesday, March 30, at the American Legion in Luverne.

 

Ag update meeting March 31

Rock County Farm Service Agency (FSA) in cooperation with Rock County Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and Rock County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD)/Land Management Office (LMO) is hosting the Rock County Ag Update meeting from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, at the Blue Mound Banquet Center in Luverne. Area farmers and rural land owners will be able to find out about current programs available for financial subsidies, government programs, loans, and other services. Lunch will be provided. 

 

Sanford offers grief support group

Sanford Hospice Luverne is offering a grief support group for six weeks from 5 to 6:30 p.m. beginning Monday, April 5, through Monday, May 10, in the Buffalo Ridge Room at Sanford Hospital in Luverne. Meetings are free and confidential for those who are dealing with the loss of a loved one. For more information or to register, call the Hospice office at 283-1805.

 

Register now for summer driver’s education

Luverne School students who complete eighth grade this school year may now register for Student Driver Education. Three class options are available: 9 a.m. to noon June 14 through June 25; 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. June 14 through June 25; and 9 a.m. to noon July 12 through July 23. Check your calendar for any conflicts, because students must attend each day. Payment must accompany registration. Call Luverne Community Education at 283-4724 for more information.

 

Summer rec programs at H-BC

Students interested in participating in summer recreation programs in Hills-Beaver Creek must have their sign-up sheets returned to the school office Friday, March 26. The forms are available online at www.hbcpatriots.com and were sent home with students.

 

Elementary Roundup at H-BC

Hills-Beaver Creek Elementary Kindergarten Roundup is at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 29, in the commons of the elementary school in Beaver Creek. Students must be 5 years old by Sept. 1, 2010, to enroll in kindergarten for the 2010-11 school year.
