Boys rout SSC Quasars in home finale

The Hills-Beaver Creek boys’ basketball team recorded its 13th consecutive win Saturday in Hills.

Taking on Southwest Star Concept in a Red Rock Conference clash, the Patriots turned in a dominating performance during a 63-30 victory.

H-BC limited the Quasars to 10 first-half points to open a 20-point lead (30-10) at the intermission.

When the Patriots outscored SSC 33-20 in the second half, their 33-point victory was complete.

Travis Helgeson led the Patriots with 15 points and seven rebounds in the game.

Andrew Scholten chipped in 11 points, Karic Wiertzema registered six assists and five rebounds, and Caleb Ellingson charted five assists and five rebounds.
