Rural Kenneth man dies in tractor rollover Friday night

A rural Kenneth man died Friday evening after the tractor he was driving rolled over and pinned him underneath.
According to the Rock County Sheriff’s Department, 63-year-old Larry Ossenfort was hauling a hay bale on the front loader of a tractor while traveling along the side of a hill.

The Farm-all/IH – 560 tractor tipped over to its left side, rolling over and pinning Ossenfort underneath.
The report stated that the grade of the hill or the weight of the bale strapped to the bucket caused the accident, which was reported around 7:40 p.m. Friday.

The Rock County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Hardwick Fire Department, Kenneth Fire Department, Luverne Fire Department and the Rock County Ambulance were called to the field at 1986 180th Ave. near Kenneth.

He was forced to retire from Pepsi as the result of a motorcycle accident in August of 1989. Following a lengthy recovery he worked for Luverne Truck Equipment in Brandon, S.D.
