Clone of Buffalos even season record at 3-3
The Tri-State Buffalos evened their Southern Plains Football League record at 3-3 with a 27-16 victory over the Albert Lea Grizzlies Saturday in Albert Lea.
Quarterback Alex Toupal tossed three touchdown passes in the game’s first half to help the Buffalos open a 19-0 lead before the intermission.
Albert Lea outscored T-S 16-8 in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to keep the Grizzlies from falling by 11 points.
Toupal hooked up with Stephan Fry for a 45-yard touchdown pass to open the scoring.
He added touchdown passes covering 25 and 15 yards to Weston Petersen and Tyrel Kool respectively to make it a 19-point difference at the break.
When Wyatt Stepka returned the opening kickoff of the second half for a touchdown, T-S led 27-0.
The Grizzlies scored the game’s final 16 points.
The Buffalos cap the regular season by challeing the unbeaten Southwest Huskerz in Worthington Saturday.
