Greetings from the Tuff Memorial Home.
Events scheduled at the nursing home are as follows:
•Thursday, May 28: 10 a.m. Memorial services for Henrietta Wassenaar, Lucille Eads and Arnold “Mike” Spath in the chapel.
•Friday, May 29: Charlie Steffen’s birthday. 2 p.m. movie “Sound of Music.”
Residents celebrating their birthdays in June are Bernie Top, June 4, and Lucille Gangestad, June 13.
Staff members celebrating their birthdays in June are Karen Cadotte, June 1; Alicia Kelderman, June 5; Karen DeNoble, June 7; Betty Ackerman, June 14; Alexis Hiller, June 16; Judy Reese, June 17; and Ashton Meester, June 18.
Monday evening The Singing Legionnaires from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, American Legion Post #15 presented a patriotic program in the chapel. We want to express our thanks to the group for their wonderful program.
Lyla Harnack and Bernice Aukes enjoyed preparing and cutting up fresh rhubarb Thursday afternoon. The ladies enjoyed reminiscing about recipes they and their mothers had prepared using rhubarb.
Jean Van Malsen observed her birthday on May 23. We would like to wish her a very happy birthday and hope she enjoyed her special day. Her daughter Bobbie from North Dakota visited for the weekend to help her celebrate.
Jerry Binford, 81, resident of Tuff since 2009, died Wednesday, May 20. A funeral service was Saturday, May 23, at Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne. Our sincere sympathy is extended to his family and friends.
Our sincere sympathy is extended to Pearl Sundem on the recent death of her son Vermayne Sundem. Our thoughts and prayers are with Pearl and her family.
