girls on the run allows local girls to make new friends and pursue dreams

Local girls in third through fifth grade recently participated in Girls on the Run, a non-profit organization for girls’ health and wellness.
According to Girls on the Run, it’s dedicated to “creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.”
The group meets twice a week and the girls are taught by certified Girls on the Run coaches who teach “understanding ourselves, valuing relationships and teamwork and understanding how we connect with and shape the world at large.”
At the end of the season the girls competed in a 5K running event Saturday, May 2, in Sioux Falls.
