Free tax help available at library
Volunteers through AARP will provide free tax services at the Rock County Community Library in Luverne starting Monday, Feb. 6. Call the library, 449-5040, to make an appointment. Appointments are required. Evening appointments are also available.
The service is free for any private individual with a simple tax format. It’s not for commercial, farming or investment taxes.
New ECFE session begins
A new session of Early Childood Family Education (ECFE) classes in Luverne is beginning and continues into spring. Classes for parents along with their infants, toddlers and preschoolers provide an opportunity to learn and grow together. Early Childhood Family Education classes help to strengthen families and enhance the ability of all parents to provide the best possible environment to raise their children. Come learn, play, connect at a 17-week session class for children ages 0-5 and their parents. ECFE classes run until May 16. Families are welcome to join at any time.
Strengthen your muscles, increase your flexibility with six weeks of Yoga. New 6-week groups begin March 8 & April 19. Wednesdays at 4:30. Fee is $42.
Juniors and seniors may take the five-session ACT Prep Class beginning on Feb. 21 in order to be ready for the actual test. Class includes an overview of test, test-taking strategies, review of content areas and a full-length test simulation. Fee is $125. Luverne students are able to take the actual ACT test on April 19 at no charge.
