County Road 4 closed May 2 near Manley
County Highway 4 will be closed Wednesday, May 2, from Manley to Valley Springs, South Dakota for railroad track repair on the Burlington Northern Railroad. National Day of Prayer event May 3
The Living Rock Church in Luverne will host a National Day of Prayer event Thursday, May 3. The church will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. with a special “Pray for America — Unity” community worship/prayer service at 7 p.m. in the parking lot.
Bank Night movie ‘Coco’ May 3
The free Bank Nite movie, “Coco,” rated PG, will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 3, at the Palace Theatre in Luverne.
Sponsored by First Farmers & Merchants National Bank and Papik Motors, a free, family-friendly movie is shown on the first Thursday of every month as it was done for “Bank Nite” in the 1930s. A cash prize drawing will follow the movie. Must be present to win.

Kindergarten program slated for May 4
The annual Luverne Kindergarten music program, Class of 2030, will be presented at 2 p.m. Friday, May 4, in the elementary school gymnasium.
This year’s program is titled “The Best that I can Be,” and features songs revealing some of the things students learned over the past school year.
Parents, family and community members are invited to attend.
CMA ride May 5
The Christian Motorcyclists Association (CMA) will host its annual Run for the Son Saturday, May 5. The Redemption Riders chapter will be participating in the event. Those interested in participating should meet at 7 a.m. at 101 W. Maple Street (former Kawasaki shop) and leave for Windom at 7:30 a.m. for a gathering with other CMA chapters. Bikers will return to Luverne via Hwy. 75 and drive through the Veterans Home area around 11:15 a.m., then to lunch at First AOG.
