‘Go West’ music program at Luverne Elementary Nov. 9 

Luverne Elementary second- and fourth-graders will celebrate the spirit of our American pioneers when they present their music program, “Go West” at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, in the Cardinal Gym. The public is invited to attend.


Hardwick Veterans Day banquet Nov. 11

The Hardwick American Legion Veterans Day Banquet will be Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Legion Hall.  Social hour begins at 6 p.m. with a dinner at 6:30 p.m. A program will follow featuring guest  speaker  Richard May of Luverne, first sergeant combat veteran, U.S. Army Retired Ranger. All are welcome.


‘All About Dairy’ slated for Nov. 11

The Rock County Cloverbuds will have their meeting, “All About Dairy,” from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Raak Family Dairy Farm, 2256 70th Ave., Jasper.

Give blood Nov. 13

Sanford Luverne and Community Blood Bank will host a blood drive at Sanford Luverne from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 3-6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13.

Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 with parent consent form found at website below), weigh 110 pounds or more and be in good health the day of donation. A valid I.D. is required. Donors should eat and drink plenty of fluid prior to donating. For information, call 507-283-2321 or go to


Steen Reformed hosts meal Nov. 15

The Steen Reformed Church iinvites the public to enjoy a meal and fellowship from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, at the church.


Guitar quartet at library Nov. 17

The Minneapolis Guitar Quartet will play at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at the Rock County Library in Luverne.

The foursome of Joseph Hagedorn, Maja Radovanlija, Ben Kunkel and Wade Oden will perform a variety of acoustical selections ranging from classical to rock and roll. Their appearance is made possible through the state’s Clean Water, Land & Legacy Amendment.
