Meetings
Luverne Music Boosters will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 19, in the choir room.  All parents of middle school and high school band and choir students are invited to attend.  
Rock County Thrivent Board will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 19, at The Bluestem in Luverne. For more information call 507-290-0085.
MS Support Group will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 19, at Southwest Health and Human Services in Luverne. All persons with MS, family and friends are invited. For information call 283-2069 or 283-2964.
Town and Country Garden Club will meet at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, at Poplar Creek to help plant flower pots for the residents there. Anyone interested is welcome to help. 
Caregivers Support Group will meet from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 26, in the conference room of Mary Jane Brown Good Samaritan Society, Luverne. Anyone caring for a loved one is encouraged to attend.
Fair participants watch for your Fair Preview book coming out with the June 5 Luverne Announcer.

Luverne Township Board meets at 9 a.m. the second Wednesday of every month in the Rock County Community Library.
Mound Township Board meets at 7:30 p.m. the second Monday each month at the Rock County Highway Building, Luverne.

Sign up for bus trip to Guthrie Theater for “South Pacific”
Luverne Community Education is offering a trip to the Guthrie Theater Sunday, June 26, to see the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, “South Pacific.” Cost of $85 covers bus ride and theater ticket. For more details or to register, call 283-4724.
 
Master Gardeners offer plants for sale May 21
Rock County Master Gardeners 12th annual plant sale will be from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 21, in the Bomgaars Parking Lot.
 
 ‘Barnyard Roundup’ Bible school May 23-26
St. John Lutheran Church will offer “Barnyard Roundup” Vacation Bible School from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. (supper at 5:30) May 23-26 for children ages 3 to seventh grade. Call 283-2316.

Men’s Community Prayer Breakfast
Men’s Annual Community Prayer Breakfast is at 6:30 a.m. Friday, June 3, in the Blue Mound Banquet Center to kick off the Buffalo Days weekend in Luverne. Speaker is Cory Grimm. Cost is $10.
 
Community Bible Study for women begins June 8
The Luverne Christian Reformed Church invites all women in the area to a 7-week Bible study by Priscilla Shirer titled “The Armor of God,” beginning at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, June 8. To order a book, call 507-283-8726 by May 18.
 
Book Club/Domestic Violence Support Group begins June 7
Book Club/Domestic Violence Support Group will begin meeting from 9:30-11 a.m Tuesdays starting June 7 and continuing for 6 weeks  (location to be announced.)  The group will read New York Times bestseller, “Crazy Love,” by Leslie Morgan Steiner. Community Ed
Registrations for many summer recreation sport activities are due by Thursday, May 19.  Be sure to sign up for morning recreation, basketball, volleyball, golf, tennis, arts and crafts, gymnastics, football, wrestling, track and field.
