Meetings
Beaver Creek Township’s monthly meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 3, with the Board of Audit at 8 p.m.
Blue Mound Quilters will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, March 7, at the Luverne Sewing Basket to see some of the new items in the store. Remember your President Quilt Block for Deb. All quilters are welcome.
Rock County VFW 2757 will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, in the Herreid Military Museum. Call 449-0632 with questions.
Blue Mound Area Theatre annual meeting will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, at The Bluestem. The public is welcome.
American Legion Post #123 and Auxiliary will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, in the Post home.
Lady Luverne Red Hats will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 11, at the Luverne Pizza Ranch and then volunteer at the Rock County Historical Museum. RSVP by Tuesday, March 8, to Connie at 283-8470.

Luverne Township Board meets at 9 a.m. the second Wednesday of every month in the Rock County Community Library.
Mound Township Board meets at 7:30 p.m. the second Monday each month at the Rock County Highway Building, Luverne.
Southwest Minnesota Habitat for Humanity meets the fourth Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Habitat Office located in the alley entrance of 126 East Main Street. Visitors are Welcome. Call 507-215-2091 for further information.
 
Rock County spring weight road restrictions in effect
Spring weight road restrictions are in effect on Rock County roadways.
Starting and ending dates are based on how the weather is affecting roadway strength. Ending dates for spring load restrictions are variable, and drivers must check for updates throughout the spring.

Relay for Life team kick-off meeting March 3 at Pizza Ranch
Rock County Relay for Life team kick-off meeting will be at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at the Luverne Pizza Ranch. This come-and-go informational meeting is for anyone interested in taking part in the Relay for Life event June 10. Bank Nite movie ‘Cinderella’ at Palace March 3
The free Bank Nite movie, Disney’s “Cinderella,” rated PG, will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at the Palace Theatre in Luverne.
Sponsored by First Farmers & Merchants National Bank and Papik Motors, a free, family-friendly movie is shown on the first Thursday of every month as it was done for “Bank Nite” in the 1930s. A cash prize drawing will follow the movie. Must be present to win.
 
Luverne Middle School music concert will be Thursday, March 3
The Luverne Middle School bands and choirs will perform a concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 3, in the high school gym. The concert will feature the sixth-grade choir and band as well as the seventh-eighth grade choir and band. The concert is free and open to the public.
 
Rock County Community Library reopens March 14
The Rock County Community Library will reopen to patrons Monday, March 14. Ribbon cutting for the completed remodeling project will be 5 p.m., Thursday, March 17. Staff will still answer phones at 449-5040, and patrons can still return materials in the drop box.
Tax appointments will still meet on Mondays as scheduled, and tax appointments can still be made by calling the library.

Tickets available for Green Earth Players ‘Frog and Toad’
The historic Palace Theatre in Luverne will host the Green Earth Players’ production of “Frog and Toad” the weekends of March 11-13 and 18-20. Box office for season tickets opened Feb. 29. Tickets are available to the general public as of March 1. For tickets call 507-283-4339.
 
World Day of Prayer services March 4
World Day of Prayer services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 4, at the American Reformed Church in Luverne and at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hills. The services are open to the public.
 
March 7 deadline to donate auction items for Hospice benefit
Anyone wishing to support the Hospice Charity Dinner and Auction by advertising or donating items for the silent/live auctions must have donations to the hospice office by March 7.
Banquet tickets are still available at the hospice office  for the Hospice Charity Dinner and Auction Saturday, April 23, at the Blue Mound Banquet Center in Luverne. Call the Hospice office at 283-1805 or email helen.saum@sanfordhealth.org
 
Sign up for Community Ed trips by March 10
Community Education still has seats available for two charter bus trips. 
Sign up for “Beauty and the Beast” Chanhassen Dinner Theatre by March 10.  The actual performance is in April 16. 
Tickets are on sale for the Minnesota Wild vs. Calgary Flames on March 24.  The group will be allowed on the ice for pre-game photos and will have great seats! Call 283-4724 with questions.
