Meetings
Sanford Luverne Pink Ladies will meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 8, in the Sanford Luverne Blue Mound Room. Program will be a tour of the Healing Gardens with George Bonnema. Call 283-2297 with questions.
Beaver Creek Township Meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 8, in the Beaver Creek Township Hall.
Vienna Township Board will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, at the Kenneth Community Center.
Blue Mound Quilters will meet at 3:45 p.m. Thursday, July 11, at the library to carpool to Quilts and More in Elkton, South Dakota. Supper will follow the tour. Call Sharon at 507-227-3821.
Grand Prairie Cemetery Association will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, at the Grand Prairie Cemetery. In case of rain, the meeting will be at Orv and Sons Plumbing in Ellsworth.

Lady Luverne Red Hats meetings are canceled until further notice due to health issues of members.
Hardwick Goal Seekers meet every Monday in Hardwick City Hall for the purpose of support and encouragement for weight loss journeys. Weigh-in begins at 6 p.m., and the meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. Call Glenda, 449-0568, with questions.

Register for Wienerman and Tour de Donut
•Wienerman World Championships, a four-person relay with eating challenges, takes place on Hot Dog Night, Thursday, Julyi 11, in downtown Luverne at 7 p.m.
•Tour de Donut Minnesota is Saturday, July 13. The 55-mile race begins at 7 a.m. at Luverne City Park. The shorter routes begin at 8 a.m. at the park.
 
St. John hosts two Medicare seminars
•The Senior LinkAge Line will offer a class for beginning internet users from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Monday, July 15, at St. John Lutheran Church, 803 North Cedar Street, Luverne. The class is for adults who would like to learn the basics of operating a computer, how to use the internet and how to use email. Participants will also learn how to use www.medicare.gov website.
•A class to learn the basics of Medicare will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, July 15, at St. John Lutheran Church in Luverne. Participants will learn the basics of Medicare and their coverage options in Minnesota. The class size will be kept small to allow time for personal attention. Preregister by calling 507-283-2316. A free light supper will be provided by St. John beginning at 5:45 p.m.
 
Sign up for soccer league, coaches needed
Soccer league for ages 4 through grade 4 (end of 2019 school year) begins Aug. 6 on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Call Michelle Dekam at 227-6125 if you can coach. Training will be provided.
 
Home School Group meets July 16
The Rock County Home School group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, at the Rock County Library in Luverne. Program will be “Homeschooling in Minnesota.”
 
Free Medicare classes
Free classes for people who are new to Medicare are offered the second and third Mondays every month at the Minnesota River Area on Aging, 1939 Engebretson Ave., Slayton.
In the first class, participants will learn basics of Medicare and their options. The second class teaches how to research these options using non-biased tools, such as the Medicare website and Medicare Plan Finder Tool.

Track Meet for all ages is Monday morning, July 8. Fee is $5.
Wrestling Camp with champion Hunter Barnett is the week of July 8 in the evenings for ages 3 through 11th grade.
Pottery Wheel Throwing four-session class starts July 9. Fee is $40 plus $10 material fee for grades 9 through adult. 
Intro to Canning on July 9 will send you home with jars of summer goodness. Fee is $38 which includes a book and all supplies.
Hey Diddle, Diddle Animal Fun Adventure Day Camp is July 12 for completed grades 1 through 4. Fee is $15.
Football Camp for boys and girls who completed grades 1 through 4 will be July 22-23 in the morning. Camp for grades 5-7 will meet in the evening. Fee is $30.

*Minnesota Twins Trip is July 21. Fee is $92.
*Guys and Dolls Guthrie Theatre on Aug. 24. Fee is $113.
