Rock County Transfer Station open July 16
To accommodate those who don’t have enough time during the week, the Rock County Transfer Station will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 16, and Saturday, Aug. 20. Call Rock County Highway Engineer, Mark Sehr, at 507-283-5010 with questions.
Monthly Food Ministry July 21
The monthly Food Ministry, sponsored by New Life Celebration Church will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, July 21 at the Luverne Senior Center. If you’re having trouble putting food on the table, come for fresh produce, bread and meat. Children will be asked to wait outside.
Fourth Wednesday free community meal July 27
The Fourth Wednesday free community meal will be Wednesday, July 27, at the United Methodist Church. Food service begins at 5:30 p.m.
Baptist Church Bible school
First Baptist Church will host Ocean Commotion Vacation Bible School from 9 a.m. to noon July 18-22 for ages 3 through completed sixth grade. There is no cost. Call Barbie at (507) 227-4952 with questions or to pre-register.
Wood sculpture artist reception July 17
Self-taught sculptor Fred Cogelow has his work on exhibit at the Brandenburg Gallery at 213 East Luverne Street in Luverne from now until Aug. 19. An artist reception is planned for 2-5 p.m. Sunday, July 17.
Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 507-283-1884 with questions.
