Beaver Creek Township Board of Appeal and Equalization will meet at 11 a.m. Monday, April 11.

Bank Nite movie ‘Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip’ at Palace April 7
The free Bank Nite movie, “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip,” rated PG, will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 7, at the Palace Theatre in Luverne.
Sponsored by First Farmers & Merchants National Bank and Papik Motors, a free, family-friendly movie is shown on the first Thursday of every month as it was done for “Bank Nite” in the 1930s. A cash prize drawing will follow the movie. Must be present to win.
 
Elementary students perform ‘Pirates 2’ April 8
Luverne Elementary first- and fourth-grade students will present their music program, “Pirates 2,” at 2 p.m. Friday, April 8, in the elementary gym.
 
Jazz bands to perform April 11
Luverne Middle and High School jazz bands will perform at 8 p.m. on Monday, April 11, at the American Reformed Church in Luverne. The event is free to the public.
 
Luverne’s Spring Loaded Home, Health and Living Show set for April 16
The Luverne Spring Loaded  Home, Health and Living Show is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at the Blue Mound Banquet Center and at local businesses. The event includes free samples, discounts and demonstrations. Hospice Charity Dinner and Auction tickets available
Tickets are still available for the Annual Hospice Charity Dinner and Auction on Saturday, April 23, at the Blue Mound Banquet Center. Tickets may be purchased in person at the hospice office located at 211 E. Main Street in Luverne, or by calling 507-283-1805.
 
Free tax help available at library
Volunteers through AARP will provide free tax services at the Rock County Community Library in Luverne through April. Call the library, 449-5040, to make an appointment. Appointments are required.
The library is closed this month, but it will be open for tax appointments on Mondays, and people can still call the library to make tax appointments. Evening appointments are also available. Bring Social Security cards to appointments.
The service is free for any private individual with a simple tax format. It’s not for commercial, farming or investment taxes.
 
Library offers Story Hour and Laptime
Story hour for ages 4-5 will start Thursday, April 7, and run through May 5 every Thursday morning from 10-11 a.m. Story Hour includes stories, songs, crafts and more.
Laptime is for ages birth through 3 with an adult and will begin Friday, April 8, and run through May 6. It meets every Friday from 10:30-11 a.m. Laptime includes stories, songs, crafts and more.
