Hardwick Goal Seekers meet every Monday in Hardwick City Hall for the purpose of support and encouragement for weight loss journeys. Weigh-in begins at 6 p.m., and the meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. Call Glenda, 449-0568, with questions.

Springwater Township Board will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, at the home of clerk Teresa Kramer.

The American Legion Post 123 and Auxiliary will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, in the Post home.

Vienna Township meets at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at the Kenneth Community Center.

Meditation and Mindfulness Practice will meet at 7-7:45 p.m. every second and fourth                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Wednesday in the lower level of Hilger Commons at 215 N. Bank Nite movie “Pete’s Dragon” March 2

The free Bank Nite movie, “Pete’s Dragon,” rated PG, will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 2, at the Palace Theatre in Luverne.

Sponsored by First Farmers & Merchants National Bank and Papik Motors, a free, family-friendly movie is shown on the first Thursday of every month as it was done for “Bank Nite” in the 1930s. A cash prize drawing will follow the movie. Must be present to win.

 

World Day of Prayer March 3

The World Day of Prayer  will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 3, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Luverne. Fellowship will follow in the Gathering Space.

 

Weight restrictions in effect on Rock County roadways

Spring weight and road restrictions are in place on Rock County roadways.

Restrictions will be lifted depending on how the weather affects roadway strength. Drivers should look for updates throughout the spring.

Hills Community Theatre March 9-11 and March 16-18

The Hills Community Theater will perform “A Decimal Point of View,” a comedy written and directed by Nancy Kraayenhof,  March 9-11 and 16-18 at the American Legion in Hills.  To reserve tickets call 507-962-3791 or 605-941-5371. Dinner theater seats are $25. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. with a  buffet dinner by Tony’s Catering at 6:30 p.m. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Play only seating for $15 begins at 7:15 p.m. for each show on a limited basis.

 

Origami Night at library March 7

A fun-filled night of origami will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, in the Rock County Library. This is a family event for ages kindergarten to senior citizens and for beginners to intermediate. Registration is required. Sign up at the front desk or by calling the library at 449-5040.

 

Blue Mounds State Park meeting March 9

The Department of Natural Resources will host the third meeting of the Blue Mounds State Park Citizens Advisory Group from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 9, at the Luverne Chamber of Commerce at 213 E. Luverne St.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss recreational opportunities at the Blue Mounds State Park. The public is invited to the meeting. Call Chris Ingebretsen at 507-283-6053 with questions.

 

‘The Looney Lutherans’ perform at Palace March 12

Laugh with “The Looney Lutherans” as they perform a fun, interactive, family-friendly show at the historic Palace Theatre at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 12. As part of their 125th anniversary, St. John Lutheran Church in Luverne is sponsoring the group and invites the community to enjoy the performance. Admission is free. A freewill donation will be accepted.  You don’t even have to be Lutheran.
