Bank Nite Movie ‘McFarland USA’ Nov. 5
The free Bank Nite movie, “McFarland USA,” will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at the Palace Theatre in Luverne. Sponsored by First Farmers & Merchants National Bank and Papik Motors, a free, family-friendly movie is shown on the first Thursday of every month as it was done for “Bank Nite” in the 1930s. A cash prize drawing will follow the movie. Must be present to win. The winner from Oct. was Amber Schieck.

Luverne Area Youth Wrestling free camp Nov. 5-6
Luverne Area Youth Wresting will have a free camp from 3:30-6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, and Friday, Nov. 6, in the small gym next to gymnastics room. Coaches will answer questions and go over basic moves. Sign-up will be available at camp and an official sign-up date will be from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, in the small gym.

‘Pirates’ performed at Luverne Elementary Nov. 6
The Luverne Elementary second- and third-graders will present their music program, “Pirates,” at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, in the elementary gym.

Veterans Day Banquet Nov. 11
The Veterans Day Banquet, sponsored by the Hardwick American Legion and Auxiliary, will be Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Legion Hall in Hardwick. Social hour will start at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. The guest speaker will be Gary Fisher, with music by Maddie Oye. The event is open to the public.
 
Tickets to GEP fall production ‘Homecoming’ now available

Free food for seniors second Thursday of the month
Second Harvest Heartland has distribution will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. the second Thursday of the month at the American Legion Hall in Luverne. This food is available to eligible seniors once a month. Eligibility is based on age (60 years and older), household size and income. Clients need to call 1-800-365-0270 and apply over the phone before they can pick up.

Volunteers needed for Salvation Army Kettle Campaign
The Rock County Salvation Army will begin its Kettle Campaign on Tuesday, Dec. 1, in the lobby at Glen’s Food Center. Volunteer bellringers are encouraged to sign up to help. New session of Zumba begins Tuesday, Nov. 10.
The chartered bus will be traveling to the Canterbury Downs Annual Craft Fair and Jim’s Apple Farm on Thursday, Nov. 12. Fee is $50 for bus ride and admission to craft fair.
Kids in the kitchen class “Pizza Party Flatbreads” on Thursday, Nov. 12. Grades K-6. Fee is $18.

Register for 2016 Discovery Time preschool. There are openings for children ages 3, 4, or 5 years in the Tuesday/Thursday afternoon classes. 
All 3-year-old children living in Minnesota will do an Early Childhood Screening as they near age 4. If your child is nearly 4 years old or already 4 and has not been screened, call 283-4724 to arrange an appointment.
 
Library offers Fall Story Hour events
Story Hour is open to pre-school children ages 4-5. Story Hour will be from 10 to 11 a.m. every Thursday until Nov. 19. Register your child by calling 449-5040.
Laptime Story Hour is open to ages birth-3 with an adult. No registration is required. Laptime Story Hour will be from 10:30 to 11 a.m. every Friday through Nov. 20.
 
CoffeeBreak  meets Tuesdays
CoffeeBreak will meet at 9:30 a.m. each Tuesday through April 2 at the Luverne Christian Reformed Church (605 N. Estey St.). The Book of Isaiah will be the Bible study.
StoryHour, a time of play and Bible stories, will be available for children ages 2 through kindergarten, and a nursery is available for the littlest ones.
