I have a coronavirus activity challenge for you that doesn’t include wearing a mask, and if you do this as a family, social distancing can be set aside momentarily.
In today’s Star Herald you’ll find a “Kid Scoop” ad sponsored by our hometown Sunshine Foods store. The message of the ad is to encourage kids to scrub their hands and help them understand the importance of doing so.
The ad offers a number of activities the kids can do, but we would like to add an extra twist. On the right-hand side of the ad are the words to the Scrub Squad Song to be sung to the tune of “Old MacDonald.”
The challenge is to video-record your kids singing the Scrub Squad Song and then send the video to our Facebook page. Go to the Star Herald’s Facebook page and check out our first submission.
I have been in contact with the company that puts together the Kid Scoop promotions and explained our idea for the videos, and they are excited about the idea and want us to send them the videos to upload to their social media outlets as well. Like Roger Brooks would say, “How cool is that?”
Please forward you Scrub Squad Song videos to designer@star-herald.com.
On the subject of social media, the first step in purchasing on an unfamiliar website is to try to buy the product locally first. If that isn’t possible and you search for it online, be aware that the reviews you read about the product may be misleading, especially the verified purchaser ones.
It’s called a brushing scam. How the scam works is a business falsely improves their rating and increases their online visibility by shipping a free, very low cost product to an unknowing receiver and then the company submits a positive review as a verified customer. Once again, buyer beware.
