Wow, where did the summer go?
Officially it’s still summer, at least until Sept. 22. There are all kinds of signs that fall is just around the corner, though.
For me the start of the football season is the most obvious sign the summer is in its last chapter. Shorter days and cooler temps are greeting us each day, and the summer flowers have seen better days.
Many of you may not be aware, but another sure sign that fall is knocking on the door is the Luverne Area Community Foundation’s announcement of its Fall Grant Cycle applications.
There is an ad in today’s Star Herald with all the information about who can apply and how to apply.
There’s no doubt applying for a grant can be a bit intimidating if you’ve never applied for one.
With that in mind, Emily Crabtree, executive director for the foundation, is putting on a class Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 7 p.m. at the Luverne Area Community Foundation’s office on Main Street.
The class is designed to provide the novice grant writer helpful tips on how to submit a successful grant application.
Emily will give you tips as to what the Grant Committee is looking for when they review submitted grant applications.
The Foundation office is located on the corner right next to the Historic Palace Theatre in downtown Luverne.
For more information about the class or just applying for a grant, give Emily a call at 507-220-2424.
