Bike safety

Area students wrapped up their school year with an annual lesson on bike safety this spring, thanks to volunteers with local civic groups. Luverne Rotary Club members donated bike helmets to Luverne third-graders on April 27 when Keith Aanenson also provided a bike safety presentation. Then on Saturday, May 2, the Optimist Club sponsored their annual Bike Rodeo in the Luverne Elementary School parking lot. Dozens of families turned out for the event, which included free brake checks by bike repairman Ken Petersen. 
The group took the bike rodeo to the Hills-Beaver Creek Elementary School Saturday, May 9.
